How do I use my own domain for my video site?

One of the biggest branding and search engine advantages with 23 Video is that you can host your videos on your own domain. To set up the domain, you have to complete two steps: You have to change the DNS-setting on your domain and the then configure your 23 Video site about the new domain.

In the first step you will configure DNS for the domain with a specific CNAME record, which can be found under Settings → Domain on your videosite. This record is unique for your site and look like 12345.sites.visualplatform.net. If you don't control the DNS for the domain yourself, you may have to ask your hostmaster to set up the CNAME record.

When the domain is set up correctly, you can activate the domain on your 23 Video site from Settings → Domain. When you update the domain, ours servers will automatically check if the domain is set up correctly. If you get an error message, please double check your settings and remember that domain updates can take up to 24 hours to complete.
