Missing video token

Hello,

I'm making a Wordpress plugin that uploads videos from the editor page. It uploads a video and displays the identifier but not the token which is required to play the video.

Can you help me please? I have a client waiting for this plugin. Thanks!

Hi Syd,

Can yo help me with a little more background on how the plugin is structured. Are you using /api/photo/upload or /api/photo/redeem-upload-token?

In the latter, we won't be transferring the token directly to the customer (since this would mean that you can use the method to have people upload videos without them having access to them on your domain afterwards). Instead, please refer to section 4 of the guide for browser-based uploads.

Thank you for replying so soon.

I see your point about not sending back the token.

I'm using the "redeem-upload-token" method. The plugin has a small iframe which contains the upload form and shows the identifier after a successful upload.

The user then copies the identifier into a popup which adds the embed code to the post, but the videos don't load without a token.

The photo_id value is actually enough in most cases, or specifically:
- When the site is access restrictions are set to open (I'm guessing this is not the case for you development site).
- When you're uploads are set to published and are uploaded in to a channel.
- When the video has been prepared for playback.
With these conditions met, embedding with photo_id alone will be enough (the player will find the token through the API upon load).

If this scenario doesn't match the specs, you will need to receive HTTP request in the background in order to support the embeds.
